About Carol Infranca & Associates

An award-winning print and broadcast journalist and business communicator, Carol Infranca logged nine years as Director of Communications for the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority. During that time she worked with both public and private organizations and their boards of directors. She understands the critical role communications play in keeping everyone “in the loop” during the Marketing, Public Relations, Community Relations and Media Relations process.

Media Relationships
Infranca has reliable relationships with media gatekeepers. She knows television assignments editors and news directors, newspaper reporters, editors and radio news directors and talk show hosts. She was a newspaper editor, assignment editor and talk show host. She knows whom to pitch with what information.

Infranca has been a dependable, trustworthy information source for Northern Nevada reporters for years. She anticipates their needs and has been told on numerous occasions, how much her foresight is appreciated by reporters who are always on deadline and are often scrambling to grasp the importance of an issue.

Community Knowledge
As a reporter for KOLO TV, the ABC affiliate in Reno, NV for 13 years, Carol Infranca covered news events in Northern Nevada and Northern California. As a reporter, she produced stories on many groups and organizations. As a writer for the South Reno Weekly – her community contacts remain strong.

A member in good standing of the Public Relations Society of America, Infranca is also a member of Western Industrial Nevada, the American Marketing Association and the Advertising Association of Northern Nevada. She has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Reno Pops Orchestra and A2N2 and is a graduate of the Greater Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce Leadership Reno program.

Education
Carol Infranca has a BA in Journalism from Pepperdine University and did graduate work at California State University at Los Angeles to obtain a teaching credential.

Media Training
Infranca combines her media experience and teacher training by offering workshops on media management -- how to handle the press – to her clients. She has presented these workshops as Media Relations Manager at Harrah’s Reno and as Director of Communications for the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority. Her workshop was also well received by the County Managers Association for the State of Nevada and by department directors at Washoe Medical Center.

Public Speaking
An award-winning member of Toastmasters International, Infranca frequently represented the RSCVA before local, regional, national and international organizations and media outlets.

Carol Infranca & Associates can arrange for public appearances, speaking engagements, lectures or exhibits for clients to increase service awareness and promote good will. Carol Infranca & Associates can also provide members of your staff with speaker training to help them perform their best under all circumstances.

Radio & Video Production
Carol Infranca writes, produces, directs and edits impressive videos. She was directly responsible for videos used to promote Reno, Sparks and Lake Tahoe as a tourist destination. Her radio production for Reno Harley-Davidson, Roadshows, Inc., producer of Street Vibrations, the sixth largest motorcycle event in the nation, have been extremely effective. Her radio and television productions for Nevada Performing Arts have been very successful. Infranca can write the script and produce and edit sound and pictures to create communication tools, which will serve NCED well.
